Panel Discussion
“AI & ART”
How AI Transforms Art?
Medijator: Prof dr. Amila Akagić, ETF UNSA
12 panelista iz akademske i umjetničke zajednice svijeta.
“The panel discussion will be held in English”
Description
AI is everywhere – but do we truly understand its impact on our society and on the future we are shaping? In this panel, we focus specifically on art, as it remains one of the most honest mirrors of societal change. Art reveals not only what technology enables, but also what it means for us as humans. The goal of this panel is to open a space for thoughtful and open exchange, bringing together perspectives from academics, ethicists, and artists. Our discussion is grounded in three key dimensions: technology, ethical responsibility, and the future of human expression. Through the voices of twelve panelists, we explore how AI is already shaping our reality and influencing artistic practice, while also challenging prevailing assumptions about its role, its limits, and the choices we face as a society moving forward.
AI has emerged as a transformative force across nearly all sectors of modern life, reshaping economic structures, social interactions, and ethical frameworks. It is often said that “AI is just a tool – it all depends on how you use it.” But is that really the case? Can AI replace charcoal, a brush, a camera, a printing press, a musical instrument, or a synthesizer – tools that have historically made art possible in a given moment?
By now, millions of people around the world have experimented with AI. Some are impressed by its speed and apparent creativity, some feel disappointed or unsettled by its limitations, and others refuse to engage with it altogether. These reactions reveal that our relationship with AI is not purely technical – it is emotional, cultural, and deeply human. AI does not enter a neutral space; it enters traditions, values, and long-standing ideas about authorship, skill, and expression.
Rather than offering definitive answers, this panel invites reflection. What changes when creation becomes mediated by algorithms? Where does human intention begin and end? And how do we preserve space for ambiguity, vulnerability, and meaning in a future increasingly shaped by intelligent systems?
